Organizational Description

Berns Team Blessings is a nonprofit organization established as the charitable arm of The Berns Team. The organization exists to transform real estate transactions into sustained community impact. Through a standing commitment to donate ten percent (10%) of every real estate closing facilitated by The Berns Team, Berns Team Blessings provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, community initiatives, and individuals in need.

The foundation was created on the belief that working with us makes a difference—not only for clients navigating a major life transition, but for the broader community as a whole. Each successful transaction directly fuels charitable giving, allowing Berns Team Blessings to reinvest in causes that promote housing stability, community resilience, historic preservation, health, social welfare and more.

Berns Team Blessings operates with a focus on transparency, consistency, and local impact. By embedding philanthropy into the core of an operating business model, the organization ensures that charitable contributions are ongoing, measurable, and directly tied to economic activity within the communities it serves.

About the Initiative

Each year, Berns Team Blessings brings our mission to life through a dedicated give back initiative designed to create meaningful, local impact. In 2025, this effort resulted in $100,000 donated directly to organizations making a difference in our community.

Funds were raised through the collective success of The Berns Team — transforming closed transactions into opportunities to give back. Rather than one-time gestures, this initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to investing in causes that align with our values of service, integrity, and long-term community growth.

The organizations selected for the 2025 Give Back represent a diverse range of missions — from preservation and advocacy to direct community support. 

Together, these partnerships allow Berns Team Blessings to support meaningful work that extends far beyond real estate.

Raise to Give

After the Eaton Fire earlier this year, we were reminded just how powerful it can be to focus our efforts close to home. Witnessing the strength, resilience, and unity of our community reshaped the way we approached giving back in 2025 and inspired us to reimagine our $100,000 Giving Back Celebration through a new initiative: Raise To Give.

This year, The Berns Team was honored to donate more than $60,000 to help local families rebuild. That experience reinforced what we’ve always believed: when we come together with intention, the impact is real and deeply felt. While we proudly continued our tradition of celebrating our 100th family helped and giving back $100,000 at our annual Fall Festival, we did so in a more community-driven way; one that allowed the people closest to our work to help guide where the giving went.

Through Raise To Give, past clients and referral partners nominated local organizations, schools, and small businesses across the San Gabriel Valley, particularly those supporting or located in areas most impacted this year, including Altadena and the Palisades. From there, our team carefully reviewed the nominations and selected twenty stand-out organizations. Voting then narrowed the field to five finalists, ensuring that the voices of those who have supported our business over the last 13+ years helped shape our local impact.

The final round of voting took place in person at our Fall Festival on November 22, where we gathered to celebrate community, connection, and generosity, and to announce how the $100,000 would be distributed.

To create the greatest possible impact, the top five organizations received meaningful contributions:

  • 1st Place: $50,000 (Door of Hope)
  • 2nd Place: $25,000 ( Eaton Fire Survivors Network)  )
  • 3rd Place: $12,500 (Friends in Deed)
  • 4th Place: $7,500 (Eaton Fire Collaborative)
  • 5th Place: $5,000 (Harambee Ministries)
  • 6th Place: $2,500 each (Habitat for Humanities SGV and Pasadena Heritage)

By concentrating the funds this way, each organization received support substantial enough to truly move the needle in their work.

Raise To Give became more than a giving initiative, it became a reflection of what’s possible when a community leads with heart. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, voted, and shared in this experience with us. Together, we ensured that our $100,000+ made a lasting difference right here, where it matters most."
