Coordinating Recovery When the Headlines Fade

Eaton Fire Collaborative is a coalition of nonprofit and community-based organizations working together to support long-term recovery after the Eaton Fire. While immediate response efforts eventually slow, this collaborative remains focused on the infrastructure, coordination, and advocacy required to help survivors rebuild, stay housed, and regain stability.

By aligning services and amplifying collective action, Eaton Fire Collaborative ensures no organization — and no family — navigates recovery alone.

Preventing a Second Wave of Displacement

As recovery continues, many Eaton Fire survivors face new risks — including the expiration of temporary housing assistance and insurance benefits. Without coordinated advocacy and infrastructure, families may face secondary displacement long after the initial disaster.

Eaton Fire Collaborative works to ensure recovery systems remain in place, voices remain heard, and families are supported through every stage of rebuilding.

Story Highlight:

While the news cycle moved on, Eaton Fire Collaborative stayed in the trenches — organizing hundreds of organizations to keep families housed and heard.

“We can’t thank you enough. We’re in desperate need of funds… we need backbone infrastructure because most of us are working 50–60 hours a week while trying to rebuild our homes at the same time.” — Ursula Hyman, Treasurer, Eaton Fire Collaborative

Continuing the Work

Eaton Fire Collaborative continues to build the infrastructure needed to support recovery efforts well beyond the initial disaster response. Through expanded coordination, advocacy, and partnerships, the coalition remains committed to ensuring survivors are supported as they rebuild their lives and communities.
